Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Misspelled name on warrant and all court documents
i had a family assault case and I took deferred adjudication probation so I wouldnt have to go to trial. Now it seems i have violated my probation. The only problem is that on EVERY document I have from them My middle name is mispelled by one letter. I heard that if your name was not correct then the judge will drop the case. Is this true?

Re: Misspelled name on warrant and all court documents
I'm sorry, but it is not true. If it were that easy there would be far less criminal prosecutions.
The Judge will allow the State to amend the documents to show the correct spelling if you raise the issue. It will not help you.
Best of luck.
