Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Five months ago my cd car stereo, subwoofer, and son's skateboard were stolen out of my car while it sat in our driveway late one night. I am regretful of the fact that we didn't report it to the police because we suspected our neighbors (who we have had problems with in the past), and we didn't want to cause any more problems with them. But, A week ago, my husband saw our car stereo in their own car! (it has a homemade knob that is not the original) and made it easy for him to identify it. They do not know that he has seen it in their possession. What should we do?

I would take photographs of the equipment in their car at the first opportunity. If you have photographs and / or receipts for the items which were taken, gather them. Then, I would call the police. You can explain to them, just as you have hear, about not reporting the initial burglary. It really does not matter that you did not call police before. They possess your property without your permission now - and that is a crime.
