Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Ok.. I am a moron i know.. I was sentenced to 3yrs probation and 6months jail which was suspended.. the initial charge was theft by check. While i was on probation i went to a bar like an idiot and my P.O. Found out.. Worried i was gonna go to jail..and like an idiot retard. I moved out of state. Basically i ran away like a coward..this was in jan of 2000... Fast forward. I moved back to texas in 2010. I am now married and have a 3yr old daughter. The whole time i was running i never was in any kind of trouble.. Now being home i want to do the right thing and turn myself in and face the music.. The questions i have are these.

1. Has my probationalready been revoked or is it still i violation in progress..

2. Will i be allowed to bond out when i turn myself in.

3. What would the warrant be for that i would have now.. Probation violation? Or would it be something different.

thanks

t

Paul Walcutt Law Office of Paul Holt Walcutt

1) Motion to revoke has been signed by judge, issuing the warrant. Probation has not yet been revoked, but it is likely under these circumstances.

2) You are not entitled to a bond on a motion to revoke probation, unless you were on deferred probation. The judge may set a bond.

3) Your warrant should be for a Motion to Revoke Probation for Theft by Check.
