Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I moved back to Ft. Worth,Tex from LA to visit my sick mother became a victim of identity theft. My social security checks and my V.A. checks were stolen via credit cards by a professional criminal. Having a hard time getting back about $ 8-9,000. will any atty take this on contingency on account of my limited income? I am back in LA

You need to answer this under civil law because as it comes to us, it is being directed to lawyers who defend persons accused of crimes.
I would think that you should be able to get some assistance from the victim program where the case is being prosecuted. And, if the person is caught, there is a chance THEY will have to pay back the money.
Moreover, your bank may have some liability for their not checking on the veracity of signatures, or providing proper protection of your bank account, etc.
