Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
i have an mtr on fellony probation
and I cant afford a legal rep. I have been through this before and the court appointed lawyer refused to even talk to me even while at court. It is in a small town and I know the judge and the probation officer would love little more that to give me the max as it is differed ajudication. Is there anything I can do to ensure i get a fair trial on my own without a lawyer seeing as how the one provided wont do anything at all? I have allready wasted years of my life dealing with this and just want to put it behind me.

Re: i have an mtr on fellony probation
You can always ask the judge for a different lawyer, but you probably won't get one. If you cannot afford a lawyer, and do not know how to represent yourself, your best option is to 'make nice' with your court-appointed lawyer, so that the attorney is more amenable to conversation with you. There is a certain standard that attorney has to adhere to, but if you are ranting at him/her it is not likely that attorney will feel compelled to past that minimal standard.
