Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Multiple bond demands/notification
1)Can a person be made to pay bond more than once for the same case? 2) Is the court responsible to notify the defendant and/or his attorney when a charge has been dropped, and then again when they re-file the same charges? Our son was arrested 1 1/2 years ago, released on payment to a bail-bondsman, and now re-arrested with another request for bail. He nor his attorney were ever notified that charges were dropped, and he was arrested after a minor traffic stop after charges were re-filed.

Re: Multiple bond demands/notification
In Ohio, this is quite possible. Your attorney should have at least known that the first case was dropped. Most counties in Ohio are easily accessible thru the internet as well for you to keep track.
The new bond could have been re-written by the bonding company you chose. The bonding company I have used would have just charged a nominal fee to re-write the bond. I hope that you've at least asked the old company to re-write their bond.
