Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Help!! In a murder
My brother who lives in Texas, is wanted for questioning in a murder. He was not involved with the actual murder itself. What he did was store in his garage a vehicle that was used by the person during the murder or the vehicle that was used in the disposing of the body. I don't know if he knew the reason why the car/truck was being put in the garage or not, but after people he knew started getting arrested, it didn't take long to figure it out. He hasn't went to the police and now they are looking for him. My question is what are the charges that he is looking at being charged with, if there is any, which I would think that there is. Also should he have an attorney present when he goes to the police station for questioning. (of course, but just reassuring myself) Please Help!! Any information is greatly appreciated, Thanks

In what state was the killing? In what state did your brother keep the car?
Re: Help!! In a murder
Overcharging is common. It is likely that he will be charged as an accesory after the fact. Right now he has the luxury of finding a good lawyer. That doesn't mean the most expensive or biggest reputation but rather, someone who gives a damn and knows what he's doing. Call the criminal defenense lawyers association. Find a lawyer and then take his advice. Never trust the police to do the right thing. Good luck.

Murder would be the charge under the law of the parties (accessory after the fact). It is like being the getaway driver in a bank robbery. Your brother needs to speak with a lawyer immediately, today, now. He can talk to the police if he wants to go to prison or worse. Of course, hiding evidence can also be a problem and he needs immediate legal representation.
A lawyer in this circumstance will not be cheap. He will need to be looking for a home equity loan, and should start that process this afternoon. Deadly serious, this murder business.
