Murder trial

My son is on trial for murder and the prosecution says I am there main witness. Do I have to tesify against my son? Can I plead the 5th. Also does my husband, the stepfather have to tesify. We did not see anything, just have heresay.

If were subpoenaed -- then you have to show up. You have to testify to the truth. The 5th Amendment is a protection against incriminating YOURSELF, not your loved ones. Talk to your son's lawyer about your expected testimony. If you have hearsay that is not excepted, then his lawyer might be able to keep it out.
