Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My neighbor has been harassing me for over a year now. I have called the police about 5 or 6 times. The police are saying they can't do anything about him...because he is considered mental...but I can go to jail if I were to threaten him back...what should I do...now that he knows he can get away with it, it is getting worse. I have a criminal tresspass notice against him.

Suggest you contact the mental health section of your local district attorney's office and explain the situation to them. If this individual has a mental problem that makes him a danger to himself or others, perhaps he should be taken to the state mental hospital for evaluation and treatment.
