Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I have a neighbor who I have known for several years who asked to use several tools I own, but he would never bring the items back. I finally told him he needed to bring the items back and he now refuses to answer my phone calls or return the items. Some of the items I can prove are mine and others were purchased many years ago and I have no hard proof (receipts) they are mine. He knows and friends of mine know that I loand him the items. It is approximately $3,000 worth of items. What should I do.

Sue him in small claims court. The filing fee will be about $110.00, including the service fee.
