Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

My partner cheated on me 4 yrs ago, got pregnant, I decided to raise this baby and stick things out. I was beyond hurt and upset and drank pretty heavy over it at that time and apparently sent this man some angry texts (1,2?) who knows what I said, I was hurt and lashing out. This was like 2 or 3 yrs ago? Could have been

when she got pregnant, I don't really remember because I wasn't serious and I'm not violent, I'm 41 yr old female 5'3 and have never been in a fight in my life. I'm not sure when this happened because there were many times they continued talking and hiding it. I've been sober since march 2011 and the baby, I consider my daughter who I love more than imagined and loves me as much. This guy continues to threaten to charge me with assault unless my partner talks to him and now uses it as a way to try and get her to see him. Apparently he has the text still till this day. Can he really charge me with that? Do I write a formal apology or what, if anything, can i do to protect myself and my family?

Whatever you may have said in this text message, at worst it might be a terroristic threat or harassment, which are both misdemeanors under these circumstances. All misdemeanors have a two year statute of limitations, meaning that if the conduct took place more than two years ago and the State hasn't filed a case on you yet, it's too late.
