Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My partner and I had a domestic dispute. She ended up cutting me with a knife. The cops were called and she was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bail was set at $75,000. No one she or I knows can afford to bail her out of jail. She also has another pending charge for DUI-2nd offense that she was currently out on bond. My question is why was her bail for the aggravated assault set so high? Also, how long could she potentially stay in jail if no one is ever able to raise the money to post her $75,000 bond?
