Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
If a part-time at will contract employee threatens to give my wife and family damaging information about me if I don't pay her what I will pay her anyway because I owe her money for work done..is that extortion? She claims to have video of me having consentual sex with someone else without my knowledge or conscent.

Try to record her threats; she is committing a crime.
In Texas, it is legal to record your own conversations; you don't need permission from the other person, and you don't even have to tell him that you're making a recording.
