Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Is there a way to pay off a failure-to-pay warrant in installments?
I have a friend who has two warrants for failing to pay fines.
I believe one fine is for a minor shoplifting offense and the other is for failing to register a jetski or all-terrain-vehicle (sorry, i forget exactly what it was, but I know it's some kind of small recreational motor vehicle.)
My friend has been simply dodging the warrants because he has no way of paying the fines, which total around $1000. Is there any way to set up a payment plan so that he can pay off these fines without going to jail? Thanks for your time.

Assuming both offenses are class C misdemeanors it may be possible to make some arrangement of some kind or other that gives your friend an opportunity to pay the fines in installments. If you have any futher questions feel free to give me a call.
