Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
i had a payday loan and have not paid it back yet. i have been getting calls from the ceo of the ace cash where i got the loan saying that i had till 12pm to pay it back or else they were going to contact my employer to come and pick me up. i feel that they keep harassing me.

Generally not paying back a loan is not a criminal offense. They have no power of arrest. However in some payday loan situations, you sign a check. It is against the law to pass a bad check. If your check bounces, they can contact the district attorney's office who will try to collect the check.
Threats of arrest or contacting your employer may violate the fair debt collection practices act.
