Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
If a person files a civil case but it hasn't been completed yet, and they file a criminal case, can they ask for full restitution after they have filed the civil case for the same amount

Absolutely. The person didn't file the criminal case; the DA's office did. If the restitution is paid through the criminal case then there will be no money owed for the civil case and proof of payment in the criminal case will show no money owed in the civil case.
