Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

A person gave me some chairs, pa system, and books for free. After hearing about a dispute with a mutual friend, the giver says that the items that he gave were not given to me, but stolen. After trying to resolve the issue by giving the items back the giver, he refused the items and want money. I no longer want the items he gave me or want them in my possession. What can I do legally to rid myself of the goods and headache of being falsely accused of stealing?

Is "person" and "giver" the same? If the person who gave them to you is the person now claiming they were stolen, I suggest you box up the items and take a photograph of them in the box, take them to the person's house, and give the boxes to the person and take a photograph of the handover. You should write a letter, of which you keep a copy, detailing what happened (He gave them to you, now claims they are stolen, and is demanding money for the items. You do not want the items - free or paid for - and are returning them.)

Take a witness with you.
