Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Personal Property Theft
On January 29, I secured my workout bag and purse in a locker with my Club key lock. My purse was stolen from a secured locker at Gold's Gym. It contained my bank debit card, 4 credit cards, my social security card, Drivers License, work security badge, desk key, office keys, car keys, cell phone, 2 flash drives, personal bank checks, and many other irreplaceable items. As you can see, my privacy and safe net were violated. Especially when you think you do everything right, like locking your belongings. I have spent hours canceling credit cards, closing bank accounts, disputing charges on my debit card, renewing my Drivers license, reporting my S.S card number to the credit bureaus. Not to mention, my cell phone, car keys, house keys were also stolen. I don't feel safe at the gym anymore and all I ask is for them to cancel my membership. The gym did file an incident report and I too filed a police report. The gym states that they cannot terminate my membership due to this reason. I am upset that this happened to me on their premises and all I ask is for them to cancel my membership which they refuse. Is there anything that I can do legally about this?

Re: Personal Property Theft
We can send them a demand letter from our law firm asking them to stop the membership. We need to see the contract.
