Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

not sure of person's identity who got ticket

I have recieved several speeding tickets in a short time frame, and one of them has wrong name, birth date and driver license info which made me doubt that I was the driver . The judge set it to trial to see what the officer will say, but I already talked to police department and the officer has already confessed to have recognized me.

I was told that a texas id card was used to fill out the ticket. Police looked at the picture taken during the violation, an admited that it wasnt a clear picture, but still felt that it was me behind the wheel. Police also warned me that an atempt to falsify idenity of the driver responsible is a crime punishable by jail, but I never said that I was sure it wasnt me driving. My question is if I go ahead and take it to trial and the judge rules that it is me who was the driver, could I go to jail even if I never actually admit that it wasnt me? I am also worried that I will lose my option to take DOC and have this off my record if I am found guilty. Will the judge still grant me option to DOC if I talk to him prior to trial?

Class C misdemeanors (traffic tickets) are punishable by fine only. So, even if convicted, you will not go to jail. If you want to have a trial, even for a Class C, I think it is wise to have a lawyer.
