Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Pharmaceutical Importation from Mexico

It is my understanding that the federal law has changed so that you can no longer import pharmaceutical products for personal use with a prescription from a Mexican physician. Previously, Texas residents (due to the Court of Criminal Appeals ruling the Texas statute void) were able to bring limited amounts of medications back from Mexico with a prescription from either a licensed Mexican or US physician. What are the changes in the law and the limitations.

Thanks for the advice.

Re: Pharmaceutical Importation from Mexico

It is still legal to bring a reasonable quantity of a prescription drug for personal use back from Mexico, but a script from a US physician is required. Mexican scripts are no longer recognized.
