Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Is a P.I. legal in your own yard?

My friend was drinking in his sisters yard along with some other friends. This out in the country. The local police drove and stopped. They started questioning everybody and eventually gave my friend a P.I. (public intoxication) ticket. Is this legal in Texas?? Thank you.

No, I would fight the P.I., it was on private property where he had a right to be.
