Are police log sheets of public record? How can I gain access to a log sheet for June 25, 2004?

Re: police log sheets
Anything printed or recorded is a public a public record.
However, if there is an ongoing investigation certain crime certain information will not be disclosed until the crime is finally resolved.
These records are obtained through open record requests.
