Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Polygraph and Reports

I am recently being accused of breaking into a new neighbors house after recently moving in there. There are no charges being filed, no evidence, and all that has occured is that I have been contacted and questioned by a detective that's following up the case. The accuser has filed a report already. I have been asked to come make a report of my own. Is there any reason for me to go make a counter report I guess you would call it? He also asked me about taking a polygraph? Are either of those required if I am the person being accused? Can I refuse to come down and make the report as well as refusing to take the polygraph?

Re: Polygraph and Reports

Most importantly you don't know if charges are being filed and you don't know if there is any evidence. Anything you do at this point assists the police in building a case against you.

Burlgary of a habitation is a first degree felony. I strongly recommend you hire a lawyer, and make no further contact on your own.
