Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Possession of Controlled Substance Statute of Limitation
I was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance almost 9 years ago on the same night I got my second dwi. I served time for the dwi and revocation of probation but have yet to be charged for the pocs. I've been on bond for almost 9 years now and I have to call Ms. Kay's Bailbonds in Bastrop, Tx., every Tuesday to report in. I have a limited income and would like to get on with my life and go to college, as I'm 37 years old now. Is there a statute of limitations on this charge?

Yes there is. Get a lawyer in Bastrop to get this charge dismissed, and dismissed in a way that the drug charge can be expunged.
