Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Can I press charges against my neice who has been forging checks from my mother's bank account? I have a Durable Power of Attorney. She will not do it.

You can try. Generally, the owner of the account has to make a police report and then the bank will follow up with the police. Talk with the bank about whether they feel your power of attorney covers the situation.

Also, you can put the bank on notice of the forgeries and have them review any checks that come through carefully to try to stop future forgeries from occurring.
