Pre-trail

I have a Felony case for Thief by check I was told that my Pre-trail hearing was set for May 4, 2006, I was told this by my Bail Bondsman on March 27 or 28, 2006, when they found out, then on April 13 I was indieted and no one informed my Bail bondsman that I needed to be there, so know I have a warrant out, that I am taking care of, guestion; can the court set my Pre-trail before they indite me and can they do the inditment without letting my bail bondmans or me know?

Do you have an attorney, retained or appointed? If so,your attorney can ask that the warrant be recalled and the hearing reset.

If not, get one today.

Often, a judge will not approve an indigent request for court-appointed counsel, after being able to afford being bonded out.

Start looking for a lawyer. Most will take payment arrangements.

Get your bondsman to notify the court in writing that you and he were not notified of the new court date.

Your bondsman needs to be willing to stay on your bond, when the hearing snafu is resolved.
