Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
If someone has a previous class C misdermeaner for family violence and gets a Class A Assault family violence a few years later what could he get for a sentence? He also has an Attack with a Dangerous dog and several PI's In the past.

If the person is charged with Class A assault then the maximum time they could receive in jail is 1 year. The offer for a plea bargain will be affected by the prior criminal record but will not raise the maximum (although if the State is aware of the prior conviction, they could change the charge to a felony assault on a family member.)
