That is difficult to answer. There are different portions of the statute that are fact specific which change the punishment ranges. It is difficult to talk about possible outcomes without knowing any of the facts. I imagine the average fee would be in the $2,000-$7500 range, but there will be lawyers cheaper and lawyers who are more expensive. I would suggest meeting with a few attorney and talk to them about the situation. They will be able to give you a better idea of what your son is looking at when they know the facts of the situation. They will also be able to talk to you about possible fees.

If you have had an opportunity to review the statute, the range of punishment depends upon the circumstances of the escape. It could range from a Class A misdemeanor up to a first degree felony. Attorney fees involved will depend on the individual attorney, but also on the actual charge. Generally attorneys charge more for a felony charge than a misdemeanor charge. You need to also consider that if he was in custody, there is the original charge he still has to face.
