Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I am on probation for a felony DWI with child passenger, one week ago I received a notice in the mail from my probation officer telling me , that I had from the date received(08/16/2013-08/30/2013) to get a polygraph Completed. Now, my question is this, am I legally bound to honor this edict even though polygraphs are not legally permissible, or, bound to perform this action, even , though it did not come from the judge presiding over my case?

You MUST take a polygraph. Read your conditions of probation which tell you that you must do what the probation department tells you. Moreover, while polygraphs are not admissible in trial, they are used in probation revocation hearings.
