Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Probation
my son was arrested for possession of less than 1gm cocaine. he was scheduled for sentencing but was arrested for dui before he was put on probation. he is now on probation for possession but has not appeared in court for dui yet, one more week, will he have his probation revoked? 1st time offender for both charges.

Did he advise his lawyer of this additional charge? The attorney could have arranged for the probations to run concurrently. At the least, the charge would have been disclosed as a prior offense, so as to not jeopardize the drug probation. He needs to talk to his lawyer -- the probation officer will find out about it, and might threaten a revocation of the first probation.
