Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
probation violation
apon receivng a summons to appear in court on the matter of ''Violation of Probation'' I contacted his probation officer. She assured me that there was not cause to be alarmed . If they were planning on arresting him and revoking his probation then they wouldn't have schedualed a hearing. She then explained that she sent a recomendation to the judge not to arrest him because he had a god job in which he was up for promotion and if arrested he would be fired. she also advised him to get letter(s) of recommendation from work and documentation of his achievments as well as proof of his non-ordered volunteer work to present to the judge. I expressed concern that he would show up just to be arrested because he not only had a violation for DWLS but recently had a positive UA. I was reassured that was not likely and told that both issues would be addressed and that he would be given opportunity to explain both violations. Needless to say what I feared is exactly what happened. He arrived and was almost emediately taken into custody WITHOUT even going before the judge. I know that as of right now he has no bond and no one is giving me any information. I am at a loss as to what ( if anything) can be done and/or what the process involves.

Re: probation violation
This is not unusual. Get him a lawyer to work with the APO and ADA to try to get his probation extended. The lawyer will get a hearing set with the judge. Probation violations are no-bond.
