Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Off Probation
My wife is on probation for injury to a child. She has now been on for 4 years and I was wondering what it would take to get her off of probation and the cost for some like that?

Re: Off Probation
Generally, but not always, a Motion for Early Termination is successful when the probation officer recommends it to the judge. It also depends on how much of her probation has been completed, if all fines and fees are paid in full, and her justification for early termination.
Normally, I advise a client to talk to the probation officer, before hiring a lawyer. If the officer seems cooperative, then it is worth your while to retain an attorney. It is certainly possible to get early termination without the officer's approval, but it is more difficult and less likely.
