Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Who do we go to for protection when the police violate the no trespassing law? (criminal trespass) I have signs up. I have read the law, and understand it, but see nowhere in the law that identifies who to go to when the local police have violated the law. One actually had the audacity to tell me he had the right to be here. This is my home! I, nor no one in this home called him. I am in Texas.

If a police officer shows up at your home, politely ask him for a warrant. If he says he does not have one, politely ask him to leave. There are exceptions to the warrant requirement. Few of them permit police to enter a home. However some do. Be careful. Always be respectful and polite. My rule is that if a cop asks you if he can do something, he probably does not have the right to do it.
