Protective order
What does one need to do to get a protective order against someone who has threatened your life? And where does one go to?

You can first contact your local District Attorney's office to determine if they will file on your behalf, in a quasi- civil/criminal proceeding. If they reject your case, then you can file privately in the family law courts, but you would need to get an attorney to prepare the paperwork and represent you at the hearing.
