Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Protective Orders
I had a protective order issued against me from my Ex wife about 4 yrs ago. Nothing ever became of it, but now I'm applying for a government job and am awaiting my background check. Will that appear?

Re: Protective Orders
I would say only if they do a civil records check in the county where the protective order was filed since applications for protective orders are civil in nature. Certainly, if no criminal action was taken, then nothing would be found through a criminal background check.
