Public Intoxication and disorderly conduct

my brother was arrested for this and is in jail. The sherrif said he can ask for time serve in a day or two but he has finals 2 days from now. He is on provation already for stealing a pack of beer and soda. Do i need to hire a lawyer? How does time serve work? Since his on probation will that impact him?

See if a bond has been set. If so, post the bond. There will be a revocation filed on the probation. You need to get him a lawyer asap.
