Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

public intoxication and resisting arrest

I was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest in Dallas Texas on or about 14th October 2006, I had an immigration interview two days later, I told the booking officer about this and that I really had to attend this interview, and how I could get out to attend this interview. She told me to plead guilty to those charges before the judge, then pay the bond and they would release me in time for the interview, my wife paid the bond and they released me to immigration custody where I have just been bonded out after 2 months. I want to know if I can change my plea and overturn these charges, I have never been in trouble before, I am 30 years old. I dont remember anything that happened that evening but I woke up in hostpital with 3 cops around me telling me I was found in the fetal position and then resisted arrest. I am around 150 pounds in weight and 5'11 in height so I am not a big guy in any way. I want to know how I could possibly have resisted arrest if I was in such a state as they reported. I am the first one to walk away from trouble and the first to help the police when I can. I regard myself to be a honest genuine man with high moral standards.

You need an attorney immediately. (as you probably realize now, you needed one then). It is probably too late to pull the criminal charges. Your issue now is to save the immigration status. Feel free to email me directly with additional information on the criminal case and your immigration status. TCL

No, you can't change your plea now. It's a final conviction for all purposes. I don't know how you could have resisted arrest either, but it sounds like you entered a plea of guilty to the charge, so now you're stuck. Sorry!
