Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
public urination
Someone I know has been in county jail for over 30 days for public urnination. Is this a common practice for such a small crime and what can they do to speed up the process. It seems a little unfair.

Re: public urination
No it is not common. Public urination is a city ordinance ticket. If he couldn't pay the ticket, he would have to do time to satisfy the ticket. Get him a lawyer -- unless there are other factors involved, he needs to get out.
