Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I put 6000 dollars down on a Chryler 300 last year (2/2010) and made 2 payments of 450 (3/10, 4/10) but I have been unable to make a payment since. The car is registered in my name and the person I bought the car from has not been able to recover it and claims to be in the process of filing criminal charges against me. Is it possible to file a criminal charge against someone who is listed as owner of a vehicle?

In Texas, it's called "hindering a secured creditor." If you're behind on payments and you prevent the repo guy from taking the car, it's a crime.
Are you sure that you're listed as the OWNER of the vehicle? Do you have a clear title?
