Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Reduction of State Jail Sentence
My husband received 18 months in a state jail facility. Is there ANYTHING that can help reduce his sentence. I have heard that a state jail sentnece is to be served day to day, no early release, no good time, and no parole. I heard today that there is a bill where he would only have to serve 80 % of his time. Do you think that this could be possible? If so, what steps would i need to take in order to get the process going?
Thank you

Re: Reduction of State Jail Sentence
I am sorry, but you were right in the first part of your question, with a state jail sentnece, it "is to be served day to day, no early release, no good time, and no parole." As far as any bill that may be presented, it will not be presented until the legislature meets again, and they are not in session. Sorry.
