As an Austin DWI / DUI Lawyer and Criminal Defense Lawyer I suggest that you get your parole officer's permission in writing.

If you want to be extra safe you could write the local District Attorney with a copy of the letter from your parole officer to confirm that you will be ok to contact your son given the parole officer's letter, get the D.A.'s response in writing.

You should consider discussing theses issues with a local criminal defense lawyer.

My answer should not be relied upon as legal advice as I don't have all of the facts.

Good Luck!
