Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

resisting arrest

I was charged with resisting arrest. This is my first offense. I have a good job am currently taking a correspondence course in college. What are the chances that I would have to serve jail time? Also I was not read my rights, even after I was booked into jail.

Re: resisting arrest

Depending upon the circumstances, you are probably looking at deferred or probation. You will need an attorney to review your file to determine if the charges are even appropriate, and if it is a solid case, to negotiate on your behalf.

If you were not questioned, then it is not likely that not being read your rights will be relevant.
