Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I responded to a craiglist post by a 22y-o guy. I am 35. I asked how he looked like; he responded "17 6' 6.5". I asked for a pic. I got a reply that this is the local police and they got my IP and will come after me since I was soliciting a minor.
Is a 17y-o a minor? and do police send such a 'notification' even if it is an entrapment?

You are potentially going to learn a hard lesson in life. 17 year olds do qualify as minors. Depending on the photo you sent, you may have the police on your door with a search and arrest warrant. However, the one thing that raises my suspicion here is that the police do not send emails saying they are the police. Generally, you will receive a loud banging at your door in the early morning hours. When you answer, you'll be taken into custody.
This is not an entrapment case!
