Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I have a revocation of probation charge for 2oz of marijuana in another county. I need an ID card, how do I get one ? Or can I go to the DPS and get one without going to jail ? I called the DPS office and they said by law I haft to have a valid ID and they can not or will not arrest me for getting one and they shouldn't do a warrant search. Is this true ?

Hire a lawyer in the county in which you have the MRP/MAJ and take care of it. The DPS cannot ignore the warrant. They WILL take you into custody, contact the county with the warrant to see if they want to come and get you. If the county confirms, you will be held for them. If the county declines, you will be released, subject to rearrest at any time.
A search warrant has nothing to do with this situation.
