Robbery with a deadly weapon
What are the possible penalties (jail time, probation, etc.) for robbery with a deadly weapon as a first ever offense?

In Texas the charge would be Aggravated Robbery, which is a first degree Felony. It carries a range of punishment of 5 to Life or Probation if the Defendant is probation eligible. That is, the range of punishment is from probation to life in the pen if the Defendant has been before been convicted a felony in this state or any other state.
Note, aggravated robbery is a "3g" offense, for which only a jury can give straight probation. Therefore, I judge could NOT give straight probation. However, I judge could give deferred adjudication probation.
