Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Sample petition
I am a claimant in a federal case where there is forfeited property. I am required to file a petition in federal court in Dallas, TX (I live in Atlanta, GA) to make my claim. Is a petition a legal form? Are there strict guidelines for the format of a petition? Can I do this myself if I can't afford a lawyer? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Re: Sample petition
I am not aware of a place to obtain a model form for this. You could visit the law library in GA, and tell the librarian you are looking for federal criminal forfeiture form books. Good luck.
