Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Search of Residence

After I called 911 to remove my drunken abusive girlfriend from my residence, she is not on the lease, less than a gram of meth was discovered while the peace officer was searching for a knife my girlfriend had held to her wrist threating suicide. Also found was less than one pound of marijuana. Subsequently my house was completely searched and I was arrested while she was left in my residence. I was cooperative with the officers and have no prior criminal history. Were my rights violated? What is the search and seizure law as it pertains to this situation? I was the one who notified the police and in a search for one item another was discovered, in addition, leaving the person who was causing trouble in my residence as I was arrested.

Thank you.

Re: Search of Residence

First, you need to hire an attorney. Second, you should not be talking to anyone about what happened and should not be posting messages on the internet.

Depending on where you live, I can help. I am a former prosecutor with the Dallas County DA's office and specialized in prosecution of mid to high level narcotics offenses.
