Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

search warrants

a few months ago a friend of mine was at my house and the sherrifs department came with a warrant to arrest him; upon arresting him they found a tin of marijuana seeds, so they claimed they had probable cause to search my husband as well; they was on our back porch and the sherriff had no warrant to search my husband, he had a half of a joint, so they arrested him as well, isnt it illegal to search someone on their private property without a warrant to do so? also there was a girl out side as well and she wasnt searched. I cannot afford an attorney for my husband, is there any place online i can aquire teh help i am seeking?

Re: search warrants

If your husband can not afford an attorney, he should make this known to the court and ask for a court appointed attorney to address these matters.
