Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
search warrants/consent to search
if a detective coerces an individual into consenting to a search by claiming a search warrant is ''on the way'' to the crime scene, and they lie about it - no warrant ever actually existed, they were merely bluffing... is the search of the scene actually illegal then? the defendant here has relied to his detriment on the false claims of an actual warrant by the police - what are the ramifications?

I need to talk to you in more detail. There appears to be an issue about the legality of the search but I can't tell from what I am reading. Call me at 210.224.5811 and I'll be happy to discuss it with you, at no obligation.
