is it legal for a 17 year old male to give concent for the search of a house by officers?

My initial reaction is yes. 17 is considered an adult in Texas. His consent is likely not valid for the entire house though. He can consent to his own room or common areas of the home. If other people live in the home, he can't consent to the areas that are associated with them, like their bedrooms.
